About Mr. Botvinnik (Our Inspiration behind the Botvinnik Chess School)

Mikhal Botvinnik studied Chess very passionately. He was  3 times world champion. He introduced technology in chess. He was engineer by profession, and worked to develop computers. He was  born in USSR on 17 August 1911 and died on 1995 at age of 84.  He wrote his autobiography named, “Achieving the aim”.  He is the 1st person, who treated chess as a science. His greatest contribution to chess is formulation of a methodology to prepare for a major tournament. Botvinnik’s big strength as a player was his command on strategy. He was known for his speciality in French defence, Caro Kana defence, as play Black and Rike Nimzo defence, Indian & slave defence as a white.

World champion Karpov, Kasparov and Kramnik were his students.
